The Steve Fund and many national experts anticipate that eliminating racial considerations in admissions will dramatically reduce the number of students of color in selective higher education institutions. Between 2006 and 2021, Black student enrollment dropped from 7% to 4% and Indigenous student enrollment dropped from 1% to 0.1%.
