Diverse: Issues in Higher Education

It began as a pilot program in 2015 and started in earnest in 2018 with 25 students after receiving a $1.68 Over the past five years, EPW has served 909 students, 68% of whom are Latino. Students attend a six-week course contextualized for their needs. We design the curriculum individually to students’ needs.

This past summer Carol Trosset completed a study tracking the class that entered Carleton in Fall 2015 and their use of the Writing Center , their performance in writing-rich courses, and their performance on the sophomore writing portfolio. The results were striking.
