Another unsettling finding is that, while 2024 CCSSE respondents who are Pell Grant recipients reported intent to transfer at roughly the same rates as non-Pell Grant recipients, the Tracking Transfer report shows that only 11% of low-income students who started at a community college earned a bachelor’s degree in six years.

Yet less than 12% of resident 18-to-24-year-old students enrolled in our public universities are Hispanic. We see similar enrollment gaps for African American students, rural students, and low-income students. About 60% of our state university students graduate within six years.

And we've done many publications on that, like student basic needs, COVID, the working learner guided pathways mindset. DG: And according to AACC, I think nearly, or maybe we're about over 400 colleges now pursuing this national framework called Guided Pathways. But Guided Pathways just doesn't happen overnight.
